The Norwegian Skating Association (NSF) was founded
February 27 1893, and administrates speed skating, figure skating and short track speed skating on ice in Norway. In addition "inline skating" or roller skating has just been "adopted" by the
association.
NSA has about 7000 members – approximately 1400 are more than 10 years and have a license, which means that they participate in national and/or international competitions. NSA is a member of The Norwegian Federation of Sports and Olympic
Committee, International Skating Union (ISU) and Federation International de Roller Skating (FIRS).
"Skøytetinget", which is held every other year, is the "governing body". "Skøytetinget" is passing the laws of the NSA and elects the
board. The NSA administration handles the daily work, and is situated in brand new facilities at Ullevaal Stadium in Oslo, where most of the
Norwegian sports federations are situated.
